GAYLE WATKINS JR.

Early Life and Education

Gayle Watkins was born on January 1, 1937, and began working at the age of 14 on tugboats with his stepfather. He graduated from Pasadena High School as an all-state football player and later attended Baylor University on a football scholarship, earning All-American honors and serving as team captain.

Career in Coaching and Education

Gayle embarked on a 36-year journey in coaching and teaching, leaving a profound impact on countless lives. He earned two Master’s degrees, became a Principal, and eventually served as Assistant Superintendent at Bryan ISD, demonstrating dedication, leadership, and a commitment to excellence throughout his career.

Family and Mentorship

As the father and coach of G.F. and Brent Watkins, Gayle was recognized for his faithfulness, loyalty, and ability to inspire. He believed in his children no matter the odds, motivating them to be honorable men. Through his guidance, God used him to build men beginning with his own family, influencing generations to come.

Legacy and Generosit

Gayle’s life and generosity gave rise to initiatives such as PowerHouse Church, Jordan Ranch, Genesis Team, and Manhood University, impacting men worldwide in places like Peru and Africa. Brent, with 34 years of coaching, shaped thousands of young men and won a State Championship in 2023. Gayle’s consistent practice of tithing and support for the local church made the fruit of these ministries possible. Leave a legacy.
